Beer Description
Abt in Dutch means Abbot, meaning the head of the abbey. It should come as no surprise that this beer was named ‘Abt’, since this is also the leader in the Kapittel range, as it has the highest alcohol content (10%). This bottle-fermented Triple is good to drink after a few months of ageing (which takes place in the brewery) and is ready to be aged for up to 20 years. Like most Triple beers, the colour tends to be paler, in this case amber, with a persistent foam. The alcohol is noticeable but is balanced by a rich, complex aroma. Round, malty, lightly hopped, slightly sweet (depending on age), balanced with fruity notes on the tongue. Prolonged flavour. A winter beer, for dessert.
